About Coaching

Resilience coaching is a forward-focused, strengths-based form of coaching that helps you develop the mental, emotional, and practical resources to navigate adversity — whether that's serious illness, profound loss, major life change, or uncertainty.

Rather than simply helping you "bounce back" to how things were, resilience coaching helps you "bounce forward" — to grow through your experience and build a life that is stronger and more aligned with your values than before. Sessions focus on mindset, self-awareness, practical coping strategies, and meaningful goal-setting.

Remission coaching is specialist support for those who have completed cancer treatment and are navigating the complex emotional and practical landscape of life in remission. Many people find that the end of active treatment brings its own set of challenges — fear of recurrence, loss of identity, uncertainty about the future.

Remission coaching provides a dedicated, compassionate space to process these experiences, rediscover who you are now, and build a fulfilling life in your new normal. It's about moving from survival mode to truly living — with confidence, purpose, and hope.

Both coaching and therapy are valuable, but they serve different purposes. Therapy typically focuses on healing past wounds, processing trauma, and addressing clinical mental health conditions. It is delivered by a licensed mental health professional and may involve diagnosis and treatment.

Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. It assumes you are fundamentally healthy and capable, and works with you to identify what you want, develop a plan to get there, and overcome the obstacles in your way. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental illness.

In some cases, coaching and therapy complement each other well. If Marcelo believes therapy may be more appropriate for your current needs, he will say so honestly and respectfully.

This varies from person to person and depends entirely on your goals, your situation, and the pace at which you choose to work. Some clients find significant value in 3–6 sessions. Others benefit from a longer programme of 12 sessions or more.

The free discovery call is the best place to discuss this. Marcelo will listen to your situation and give you an honest recommendation. There is no pressure to commit to a particular package — you can always start with a single session and assess from there.

All coaching sessions are currently conducted online via video call (Zoom or Google Meet). This makes it convenient for clients anywhere in the UK and internationally, and ensures flexible scheduling around your commitments and energy levels.

Online coaching is just as effective as face-to-face coaching — and for many clients, particularly those in recovery or remission, being in a comfortable, familiar environment can actually enhance the experience.

If you've had the free discovery call, the first paid session will begin with a deeper exploration of where you are now, what you'd like to achieve from coaching, and any initial goals or intentions you've identified.

Marcelo will explain his approach and what you can expect from the process. You'll begin building the coaching relationship — which is central to the work. You won't be given a rigid agenda to follow; the session will be led by what feels most useful and important to you.

Many clients describe leaving their first session feeling heard, lighter, and more hopeful — even if nothing has changed "on paper" yet.

Coaching works best when you are ready and willing to engage actively in the process. It requires a degree of openness, honesty, and commitment to taking action between sessions. It is not a passive process.

If you are currently in crisis or experiencing acute mental health difficulties, coaching may not be the most appropriate support right now. Marcelo will always signpost to relevant professional resources if needed.

The best way to find out whether coaching is right for you is to book a free discovery call. It's a no-obligation conversation, and by the end of it you will have a clearer sense of whether coaching — and coaching with Marcelo — is the right next step.

Simply head to the Book Now page and complete the booking form. Marcelo will be in touch within 24 hours to confirm your session and send you a video call link.

Alternatively, you can contact Marcelo directly if you have questions before booking, or if you'd prefer to arrange a session via email.

Marcelo asks for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a session. This allows him to offer the slot to another client.

Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged in full, except in genuine emergencies. Rescheduling with 48 hours' notice is always welcomed — life happens, and flexibility is important during recovery.

Full details will be provided in your coaching agreement before your first paid session.
